The deal, in writing.
How working with me goes, start to finish, in plain words. Nothing here I wouldn't say to your face.
The promise
I build your new site before you pay anything. You look at it, you change what you want, and only if you approve it do I take it live and send the invoice. If you don't want it, there's no bill and no hard feelings.
-
The free web check
I give your current site a health check (speed, phone experience, Google, broken parts, security basics, how easy it is to book or reach you) and send you a short write-up of what works, what needs fixing, and what I'd do. It costs nothing and it's yours to keep, whether or not we work together.
-
A sample, if you're serious
If the web check makes you want to see more, we agree on the size, the amount of work and the price before I start. Then I build the new site with your words and your photos. Your booking, ordering or scheduling tool stays.
Your current site stays up the whole time. Nothing changes for your customers until you approve the new one.
-
You review it on your phone
I send you a private link. Click around, show it to your staff, and tell me what to change. Three rounds of edits are included. A round is one list of changes from you and one updated version from me.
-
You decide
If you say yes, just reply to my email or text. I take the site live on your domain and send the invoice.
If you say no, there's no bill. The draft stays with me and isn't used for anyone else's business. You keep the web check.
-
What you own once you've paid
Everything. When the site goes live I hand you:
- Your domain, registered in your name
- A full copy of the site's files
- Your photos and words, in the original files
- Access to your Google Business listing, if I set it up or cleaned it up
If you ever leave, I help you move it, at no charge. No fees to leave, no domain held hostage.
-
The monthly plan is optional
$125 to $250 a month covers hosting, changes to your menu, hours, rates or schedule, a check-up every quarter, and one small improvement each quarter. No minimum term. Cancel any time and the site stays yours.
-
Changes after you approve
Small updates are covered by the monthly plan. Anything bigger, like new pages or a new feature, I quote before I do it, never after.
-
What costs money outside my price
The website files are yours. A few things around them belong to other companies and are billed by them, not me:
- Your domain name, renewed once a year with the registrar
- Booking, ordering or payment tools you subscribe to, and their fees
- Email on your own domain, if you want it
- Licensed photos, fonts or music, if a design calls for them
I'll list any of these in writing before I start, so nothing comes as a surprise.
-
What keeps a project moving
Most delays come from waiting on content: photos, prices, menus, or logins to your current site, domain and booking tools. The sooner those arrive, the sooner you'll have a sample to try.
-
Without a care plan
You can run the site yourself or hire anyone you like, since you have the files. I'm happy to quote changes one at a time.
-
What's the catch?
For you, there isn't one. The risk is mine: sometimes I build a site and the owner decides not to go ahead. That's why I start with the web check, and only offer to build a sample when I'm confident I can make your site better.
Sound fair?
